Welcome to Grayswood CE Primary School- a place where everyone counts.

Grayswood is a friendly village school, situated within an idyllic location, with one class per year from Reception to Year 6. Our Christian values of love, kindness, respect, teamwork, perseverance and forgiveness and our mission statement 'Love one another as I have loved you' (John 15:12) underpin the ethos and relationships in our school, however we are inclusive of differing faiths and none and welcome diversity.

Book and Bake Sale Success

Our thanks to everyone who organised, baked, donated, and purchased items from yesterday's Book & Bake sale, organised by the Wrens and Robins parents.

We asked the children to design a new school traffic mascot. It was a VERY tough decision to pick a winner!!Our fabulous winning mascot was designed by Cressida! Every entry, all the way from the smallest entrants in Wrens to the top years in the school were so considered and detailed, and so in assembly all those who entered were awarded a certificate to recognise their hard work! Our new mascot will now be made into a new graphic which will be shared on the website, the local parish magazine, social media and as imagery around the village - so keep your eyes peeled! Thank you again to all the parents, residents and the teachers who came up with ideas for encouraging safer driving around the school, it was hugely helpful and appreciated.

Christmas Lunch 2025

Today Grayswood School hosted its annual Christmas Lunch for 170 very excited children.

On Monday, 4th November, Swallows class went on a trip to Butser Farm. When we got on the coach we laughed and had fun. The driver also played some music. When we got off the coach, Jo led us to an Anglo-Saxon house. We talked about how they lived before doing our first activity. This was drawing and writing using a quill (hollowed out bamboo stick), dipped in ink. It was fun, fun, fun! We were also able take these home. After that, we made our way to the archaeological dig. We used trowels and dug up some ancient artefacts. It took quite a while to find any items but we persevered and found some in the end. A few of the objects we found were bones, big rocks, horseshoes and some pottery fragment's.After lunch, we went to a bench to do some sewing runes. We sewed our initials using ancient Saxon language, We used blunt needles, some coloured wool, and a cardboard square. Some people found this quite challenging but we powered through. The teachers and adults were very impressed.Next we went to a Roman villa, and the Roman villa. We discussed the differences between a Roman house and a Anglo-Saxon. We could answer many of Jo's questions as we had learnt about the Romans in Year 3.Finally, we made our way to the last Anglo-Saxon house where Jo showed us some replica artefacts from this age. Lots of us found this very interesting. We even got to feel and touch some of these objects.This was one of the best trips we had ever had. We would recommend it to family and friends.

Our Year 6 Sports Crew have completed an Active Surrey training session during which they achieved the Bronze Award. They are now ready to inspire our children to be active and have fun. They lead morning exercises and PhysiFun sessions at lunchtime.

On Thursday afternoon the Year 3 boys football team travelled to play against local rivals, St Ives. There were two very well fought matches. Grayswood narrowly lost the first match 1-3 and then won the second match 3-0. Well done to all the boys who played their hearts out and wore their Grayswood kit with pride!
